Quick Peep: Inspiration!

I haven't blogged in over a month! :O School has been taking up so much time, but I think I may have found a source of inspiration from MAC's website:

I think that this just looks amazing; I'll try to recreate it soon! :)

Inglot 40 Palette Swatches & Review: Part 1

My.. precious!!

I went there guys. Haha. I've been dreaming about getting Inglot eyeshadows forever and now I finally have! Because my arm can only handle so much swatching, I'm going to split this up into 3 parts! :) Unfortunately a few colors are used, I took senior pics on Saturday and I need to use these colors!

Starting from the left, top to bottom:

Pearl 421: A redder bronze with a nice sheen. Beautiful! Slight pigmentation issue, but I will attribute it to the fact that I didn't use a base.
Pearl 422: A grey-ish brown that reminded me a bit of satin taupe. Again, a beautiful sheen.
AMC 52: If the two next to it had a baby!
Matte 360: Beautiful cool toned mid-brown. SO pigmented.
Matte 357: A matte red based brown. Also pigmented.

Matte 337: A pinky mid-tone brown, gorgeous.
Matte 344: A lighter brown, almost grey with pink undertones.
Matte 362: Bubblegum pink
Matte 366: True red, I think I just put this in here for the heck of it!
AMC 510: A shummery cantaloupe, not too pigmented.

Peal 403: A shimmer light yellow.
AMC 59: A chartreuse green, a color I've been wanting forever! Pigmentation was so so.
AMC 58: Kelly green with silver shimmer.
Matte 384: Cooler toned green, very pigmented.
Mate 333: Forest green, also pigmented.

Packaging:
The packaging had it pros and cons. The eyeshadows are nearly impossible to move (..I didn't even try to move them!) and AMC 510 got a ding in it without me even noticing it. The packaging is pretty sturdy although I won't be throwing this palette around anytime soon. The cover snaps on magnetically over the entire palette, which is a little irritating. I think it would have been better if it just flipped up; it makes the palette about twice as bulky.

Overall: A-

Spotlight: MAC Rebel Lipstick

In preparation for MAC's new collection, MAC Me Over, I'm reviewing a lipstick that will be released in this collection (Although it is a permanent shade.) This collection will be released on August 25th.

MAC's Rebel l/s is a satin, dark vampy berry color. It applies like a dream and is vampy enough to work in the fall without being 90s-era goth.

(Taken indoors, this color is a little darker than real life)

The second picture is the truest to life. I love this lipstick, even if I rarely have the courage to wear it in public!

I am already creating a wish list for this collection! I'm fairly excited! (But I don't want to spend money.. yes I'm a cheapo.)

My list:
$14.50 Runaway Red Lipstick
$14.50 Moleskin Eyeshadow
$14.50 Outre Eyeshadow
$14.50 Social Light Lipstick

That's all for now! Visit Temptalia to see swatches of MAC Me Over products!

Do you have your eye on anything in this collection? Anything specifically you want to see reviewed? Let me know in the comments. :)

My Favorite Nail Polish EVER

Just a quick post to show you my favorite nail polish ever, OPI's Dulce De Leche. I first saw this on Clara's Blog ages ago and I had to pick it up. A beautiful creme pinky-caramel color, I could wear this color forever! I just might! ;)

Isn't it just gorgeous?! Ah, love love love.

In other news, I attempted a cut crease using the Amethyst Ablazed quad and for the life of me i could not take any good pictures of it. Blah, well I guess I'll have to try again.

What's your favorite nail polish?

Versus: Black Eyeliner

Here are just a few comparison swatches of the black eyeliners I own and a little bit about them!

From L-R: MAC Feline Eye Kohl, MAC Smolder, Urban Decay Zero

Feline Eye Kohl ($14.50) is a limited edition MAC eye pencil but it is something that almost every makeup-lover goes crazy for when it is released. Is it the darkest black I've ever seen? Nope, Smolder appears darker here. Is it the most long-lasting eyeliner? Nope! By the end of the day I have major raccoon eyes, seriously. It's ridiculous. It is very creamy though, that is one of its best aspects.. and it's worst. It's so creamy that it's hard to make a fine line. I just can't buy into the hype, sorry!

Smolder Eye Kohl ($15.00) is a permanent eye kohl and the blackest of all three shown. It has a nice sheen which is nice. While it has great pigmentation, it doesn't have the best staying power (but not as bad as Feline). It transfers really when worn on my upper lid, but I can deal with this!

Urban Decay Glide on Pencil in Zero ($18.00) is the most expensive eyeliner of the lot. It isn't the darkest eye liner I've ever seen, but it has amazing staying power. See the dilemma? If I'm going swimming, I'll use this eyeliner. Urban Decay recently released Perversion which looks like a promising alternative to Zero, I will have to check it out!

Overall: AVOID FELINE. Run. Run as fast as you possibly can! Okay, that's a tad dramatic, but I wouldn't recommend it. Go for Smolder or Zero!

Is your experience with Feline similar to mine? What's your favorite eyeliner? Let me know in the comments. :)

Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion "Amethyst Ablazed": Review & Swatches

After hearing rave reviews at Beauty Gala and at A Brilliant Brunette about Maybelline's new palettes, I decided to give one a try.

From Left to Right:
1: The first color is a red-based grape color. A color that is easily dupe-able but still nice. Not much shimmer to note, maybe a few specks of silver.
2: The second color is a light purple, almost pink with gold shimmer. I wanted to love this color BEYOND belief, but it was a little powdery. In fact, they all were. The amount of pigmentation makes them susceptible to getting everywhere. The shimmer didn't really adhere to the color itself, but it does remind me a lot of Tainted, but much darker.
3: Another color I wanted to love but am still on the fence about. A bluer-based purple blue and silver glitter. It took a little effort to get full color intensity, but in the end I still think it's workable.
4: A frosted Lilac. It wasn't so frosty that it'd be a bad highlight. This is a shade I really like.
5: A silver glitter that can be layered over the other colors. Not much to say about this! It's not really my cup of tea.

This palette is a little expensive in drug store terms. It was $10.99 at Ulta but thanks to my trusty coupon I got $3.50 off on it.

Overall: B+, most colors were powdery but generally nicely pigmented!

Despite the drawbacks, I am excited to try this palette out. Expect a look with it soon! :)

Do you want to buy this? Have you thought about buying any of the other palettes? Let me know!

NOTD - OPI Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous

Isn't that just the cutest name? Hah, I love OPI names. This is from OPI's Swiss Collection and while it isn't summery at all, I really do love the way that it looks!

I'm absolutely atrocious at applying nail polish, but thankfully this didn't turn on too bad! This is two coats, I love the fact that it has glitter (Even though I'm more of a creme gal) but it's still smooth.

What's your favorite nail polish color?

MUFE Aqua Liner Review & Swatches #7 and #11

Hey all! A new product review today. Mufe Aqua liners are touted as being..

High Precision Waterproof Eyeliner
Aqua Liner is a high precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. Rich in pigments and polymers, its formula guarantees intense color and an outstanding waterproof result. Its ergonomic applicator lets you easily apply an ultra precise line to create an eyeliner makeup look. Aqua liner is available in a wide range of vibrant shades with matte, iridescent and diamond finishes. Easily remove with waterproof makeup remover.

Swatch of #11 - 2 Layers vs. 1 Layer
#11 is a dark purple with a blue base with silver microshimmer.

In regards to the claim of high precision, the wand has both good and bad aspects. It's made out of foam which is not my favorite type of applicator.. It makes creating a precise curve a little bit challenging due to the fact that it isn't very flexible. Creating a straight line on this was a challenge!

The formula is a bit runny and, as most blogs have previously stated, you MUST shake the bottle before use otherwise it will be a runny mess. It is not as pigmented as I'd like, see the difference in layering the product ones versus layering it twice? A bit of a let down.

On the bright side, the formula is extremely waterproof and wear proof. I woke up around 8 o'clock a.m yesterday and by the time I went to sleep after the Harry Potter premiere around 2:30 a.m (After MANY tears..) it was still there. Albeit it didn't look perfect, it definitely held on.
After running my arms under water nothing happened!
While the formula's staying power is a definite plus, I can't get past the runny formula and the unyielding applicator. For this reason, I'm going to return #7. Because I used #11, I don't think it is ethical for me to return it but no matter - the color alone almost makes up for it.

Tips for using this: Shake the bottle and wait for it to dry - it does have a rather long drying time. Fixing mistakes will not be easy! I will be definitely trying out Urban Decay's new liners - same idea, better wand from what I've seen!

Overall: B-

Have you tried these new aqua liners? Did your experience differ from mine? Let me know in the comments! (:
